The efforts of police to rid Benue state free from criminals under CP Abbas has started yielding positive result.
This was demonstrated yesterday when the men of Operation Zenda JTF, arrested four suspects including a former councillor in Vandeikya Local Government.
The men of operations Zenda acting on intelligence, arrested four men with 180 live ammunition at Ugbema in Buruku Local Government area of the state.
CP Wale Abbas who paraded the suspects yesterday at the police headquarters in Makurdi through the PPRO, SP Sewuese Anene told newsmen that the suspects were arrested through stop and search by the team of Operations Zenda at Dura bridge in Buruku local Government.
According Anene,one of the suspects was carrying 180 live ammunition where he claims to be transporting them to Cameroon, The suspects who confessed to the crime led men of operations Zenda for the arrest of others with 120 ammunition.
The police Image maker further said the Investigation into the matter is in top gear to unravel the source of the ammunition for prosecution of the offenders.
