Osun state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has flagged off campaign for all its candidates in the state forthcoming local government election billed to hold on the 15th of October.
The candidates and other members of the APC across the state attended the campaign flag off ceremony which held at the state party Secretariat in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
Speaking during the flag off, the state party chairman, Gboyega Famodun said the election will be conducted for chairmanship, vice chairmanship and councillorship candidates in all local government councils in the state.
He urged the candidates to be civil and law abiding in the exercise, just as he admonished them to be loyal and remain focused to the progressive cause of the party.
Famodun expressed optimism that the election will be successful as he advised electorate to continue to support the party’s commitment to good governance and grassroot development
Some of the candidates commended the party leadership and the state governor for the level of preparedness for the election.
The candidates were presented with the party’s flag to signify their authenticity to participate in the election under the APC party
According to the Osun Independent Electoral Commission, OSIEC, the election is scheduled to hold this Saturday 15th of October and all registered parties in the state are expected to participate in the exercise.
TIMENEWSNG reports that the opposition party, People Democratic party (PDP) vowed not participate in the election as they consider it Illegal process by the outgoing administration.
