A socio-cultural support group for the All Progressive Congress(APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Yoruba Oke-Oya fun Asiwaju/Shettima(YOOFAS) has inaugurated its state/zonal coordinators accross the 19 northern states, pledging to rally support in other to garner massive votes for the APC presidential candidate come 2023.
YOOFAS is a group accross the 19 Northern states working to mobilize and sensitize all sons and daughters of yoruba to support the candidacy of the All Progressive Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima.
Speaking at the inauguration in Abuja, Director general of the group, Hon. Abdulfatah Shittu said the scope of the group is well defined as it is solely to mobilize and canvass votes among their kinsmen in the north.
Hon. Shittu noted that the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju due to his outstanding leadership prowess, track records and antecedents is the turning point for YOOFAS to want to work assiduously for his victory come 2023.
He therefore thanked the northerners for their massive love and supports for Tinubu.
“Currently, we have our structures in all the 19 northern states including, FCT, millions of our people are born and based in the north.
“We will work very closely with all the Obas accross the 19 northern states, clergy men and other sociocultural community Stakeholders in the North to mobilize and canvass votes for Tinubu/Shettima in other to ensure their victory come 2023”, he said.
In his remarks, the minister of youths and sport development, Hon. Sunday Dare described the idea as a welcome development.
Dare said Asiwaju is a man for all; a man with vision to redefine Nigeria and as such every democratically approved methods must be engaged in achieving the set goals.
Speaking also, the grand patron of the group, Dr Samson Adegoke Maigida advised the group to work collectively, while promising to set up a national office in Abuja for easy coordination. “Our sole goal is to engage major stakeholders and to mobilize eligible voters across federation level to canvass for votes for the APC candidate”.
Shortly after the inauguration which was attended by the minister of Youth and Sports, the grand patron of YOOFAS, chairman of the Yoruba elders council, Abuja, among other dignitaries, the group proceeded to the residence of Yeye Folashade Tinubu for a familiarity visit.
According to Yeye Folashade” I identify with YOOFAS. I heard of your work in Jos prior to our campaign Inauguration with meeting the traditional rulers, I want to thank you for the massive work done, our target is to make sure Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu continue as the progressive president come 2023″.
