Onnoghen Sworn-in As CJN

 Acting president yemi osinbajo has sworn-in justice Walter onnoghen as the 17th chief justice of the federation.

 At a brief ceremony held at the council chambers, osinbajo urged onnoghen to fair and just to every Nigerian. In his vote of assurance, the chief justice promised to strive for the independence of the judiciary. osinbajo later decorated onnoghen with the title of Grand commander of the Niger. details later.

 He said Onnoghen was assuming the position at a crucial time in the nation’s history.

In his remarks, Onnoghen promised to lead the judiciary and ensure the independence of the arm of government. He urged all to adhere strictly to the rule of law.

He also solicited the continued cooperation from all the Justices of the Supreme Court.

The inauguration was witnessed by the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; former CJNs members of the Federal Executive Council; Justices of the Supreme Court and his family members, among others.
