Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has directed all chairmen and councillors in the 18 local government areas of the state to vacate their seats immediately.

The directive which was contained in a statement by the Chief Press secretary to the governor, Segun Ajiboye is consequent to the judgement of Ondo state high Court that set aside last year’s local government election.
They are directed to hand over all government properties in the possession to the local government director in their respective local government.
The statement enjoins the people of the State to remain law abiding as the directive is in adherence to the Court order.
It says elections to fill the vacant positions would be conducted as soon as possible as directed by the court.
