Sunshine Stars of Akure picked up the much needed 3points with a 2- Nil victory over Kastina United at the Akure township Stadium.
Thomas Adesina opened the scoring for the Owena waves with a brilliant overhead kick in the 64th Minute before Sunday Oluwadamilare doubled the scores in the 89th minute.
The victory relieves pressure on the Coach Kayode Olojungbe led technical crew who were given a 2-Match ultimatum by the Management of the club and takes Sunshine stars to 17th place on the table.
In the other results, MFM continued their excellent home run with a 2-1 victory over Abia Warriors, Rivers united played a goalless draw against Plateau United, shooting stars won Elkanemi warriors 1-Nil while FC ifeanyi Ubah defeated Niger Tornadoes 1-Nil.
