Coroner Threatens Bench Warrant Against Osun CP For Non-Appearance

The coroner overseeing the inquest into the death of the first executive governor of Osun state, Senator isiaka adeleke has threatened to issue a bench warrant on the commissioner of police in the state and other police officers summoned to appear before the coroner if they fail to appear before the coroner on Wednesday.

The visibly angry magistrate Olusegun Ayilara complained about the non-appearance of the representative of the commissioner of police, Osun state command for the third time since he was summoned by the coroner last week.
He said the continuous failure of the CP and other officers of the command to appear before the coroner is frustrating its efforts at keeping to its duration of three weeks as stipulated by the state government I unravelling the circumstances surrounding the death of senator Isiaka Adeleke.
Other officers of the command summoned to appear before the coroner included the officer in charge of homicide in the state and the divisional police officer for Dugbe division in Osogbo, the state capital both of whom were said to have been present at the LAUTECH teaching hospital when the corpse of the late adeleke was brought for autopsy.
The legal officer for the Osun state police command, Aruna Abass assured the court of the presence of the CP and the two officers of the command before the coroner on Wednesday.
