Uncertainty Over Fayose’s Future In PDP, Aides Mute On Development

 Launches “Ekiti Continuity 2018” Campaign

The Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose may be set to ditch the People’s Democratic Party ahead of next year’s governorship election.
Media reports have it that Fayose has removed the logo and name of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from his campaign office at Olora junction, Adebayo, Ado- Ekiti with the one storey building being repainted white, with every insignia of PDP removed.
It was also observed that the mini signposts mounted on Ado-Ikere Road, bearing the logo and name of PDP alongside Fayose’s name, have been removed.
They were replaced with ones without PDP name and logo, but with Fayose’s pictures, and the statement: “Ni 2018, E Standby”, meaning “My People Be on Standby in 2018.”

The  Media Aides to Governor Fayose when asked about the development however kept sealed lips. Lere Olayinka had earlier served through his Whatsapp platform a clean poster having Fayose’s picture with the PDP logo conspicuously missing. He added in the post that “Here in Ekiti, we are thinking ahead. We wont be messed up like the spoilers messed them up in Ondo. We standby. Fayose leads,we follow”.

When contacted however for his reaction on the said defection rumour, Lere Olayinka simply said  “No”, a reply signalling no comment to the rumoured defection.

There are speculations however that Fayose may be preparing his followers to warm up for the eventual defection to APDA as being allegedly designed by the Makarfi led PDP faction. Other sources however hinted that the governor himself is getting set to go the Olusegun Mimiko way of mobilizing and defecting to another political party which will give him absolute control over the party machinery in order not to have any problem at the 2018 governorship poll. The new posters and political messages is said to be coordinated under the aegis of Oshoko Mass Movement which is spearheading the “Fayose Continuity 2018” Campaign with much vehicles now branded without the PDP logo also.
