Fayose Launches Presidential Ambition as State Receives Second Tranche of Paris Club refund

There are strong indications that the Ekiti state governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Ayodele Fayose might have abandoned his aspiration to seek extension of tenure in 2018 as he just launched hus presidential campaign on facebook.
This is coming few days after the PDP zoned the position of the party’s presidential candidate to the northern part of the country.
Recall that the governor had initially said he would approach the Supreme Court to determine his eligibility for extension in office due to his inability to finish his first term in office.
Fayose, whose impeachment then had been declared null and void by the Supreme court, had said there was need to finish his first four years in office.
Fayose had on several occasions declared that he would run for the Presidency in 2019, it is however yet to be seen if the PDP will change it’s zoning policy to suit the ambition of the Ekiti state governor.

Just as the governor is launching his ambition, the state is also richer with the receipt of another tranche of the Paris Club refund.
The Ekiti state government acknowledged the receipt of Four Billion and Seven Hundred Million Naira as the state’s share of the second tranche of the Paris club refunds.
In a statement from the office of the special assistant to governor Fayose on public communications, a total sum of four billion, seven hundred and seventy two million, eight hundred three hundred and six, thousand six hundred and forty-seven naira eight kobo  (N4,772,836,647.08) to be  shared between the state and the sixteen local government areas was received from the federal ministry of finance. The state government however said it got just half of what is accrued to Ekiti state which was N9.4 Billion Naira.
The statement also said Governor Ayodele Fayose would soon meet with teachers, local government workers, Labour unions, and civil servants on how the refund would be disbursed.
