Osun State Governor,Rauf Aregbesola wants Muslim faithful in the state and Nigeria in general to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and stability of the country.
Aregbesola in a statement signed by his Media Adviser,Sola Fasure,said Nigerians of all faiths must join hands with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari in its determination to build a peaceful and harmonious country.
He tasked adherents of Islam to imbibe the lessons of commitment, dedication and obedience to higher authority as demonstrated by Prophet Ibraheem’s willingness to sacrifice his son which the Eid-El-Kabir commemorates.
Aregbesola pledged his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the people of the state in the remaining period of his tenure.
The Governor also stressed the need for political leaders and followers, religious leaders and their adherents to come together and forge a harmonious relationship for the love of their country.
While wishing all Nigerians a most rewarding and Happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Governor called for moderation in their celebration.
