The senator representing Kaduna Central Shehu Sanni has confirmed that former vice president Atiku Abubakar has moved to the Peoples Democratic Party, despite his silence on his next political move.
Atiku Abubakar in his letter on Friday resigned from the APC but never have a hint on his next political move. But tShehu Sanni, while speaking at the 2nd year anniversary lecture of Rave Fm on Osogbo, says the politician has moved to the PDP stressing that the ruling party APC should be weary not to fall into the trap of lack of internal democratic mechanism which destroyed PDP.
“The ruling party should be very careful so as not to make what destroyed the PDP destroy the party too. If the Lion of Adamawa (Atiku) has moved out of the party, and the lion of the lagoon( Asiwaju Tinubu) is grumbling, we should all know that all is not well with the party.”
Speaking on the need for all hands to be on deck in fighting corruption as being led by president Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Sanni charged all stakeholders especially civil society groups and the media not to forsake the president as he is surrounded by some who does not want him to succeed on his anti-graft drive.
“President Buhari must be rescued from elements at the corridor of power whose motives are antithetical to the success of the president. Nigeria under Buhari has truly left Egypt, but we are yet to reach the promised land” Shehu Sanni submitted.
The activist turned senator however charged that Nigerians should take their destinies into their hands by asking relevant questions from public office holders, this he said is because “Nigeria does not have strong opposition and even the elites in the ruling party are saying one thing publicly but do something else inside”
