The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party on Monday inaugurated a new state executive committee for the Ebonyi State chapter of the party.

The party dissolved the former state executive following the defection of the state governor, Dave Umahi, from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress.

The inauguration ceremony is presided over by the Deputy National Chairman North, Senator Suleiman Nazif.

In attendance are, former Senate President, Pius Ayim; Senator Sam Ekwu, Ambassador Frank Ogbuewu, and the two other serving senators from Ebonyi State.

Those inaugurated are: Fred Udeogu – Chairman, Luke Nkwegu – Secretary, Gideon Osi – Publicity Secretary, James Alaka – Organising Secretary and Amaka Igboke – Women Leader.

Others are: Midi Irenede -Legal Adviser, James Onah -Assistant Secretary, and Monday Chukwu, Treasurer.

The party dissolved the state exco following the defection of the state governor, Dave Umahi, from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress.

The Embattled Chairman of the Ebonyi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Onyekachi Nwebonyi, had earlier described the dissolution as laughable.

He stated that the dissolution is unconstitutional and illegal.

He added that the party’s state executive will be heading to court to challenge the decision.

He said: “It is laughable to think that the NWC would just get up and dissolve a state executive committee because the governor or a few individuals want to leave the party.”
