BREAKING: Nigeria records 617 new COVID-19 infections

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 617 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.

NCDC stated this via its verified Twitter handle on Saturday night.

The health agency said that the 617 new cases had taken the total number of infections in Nigeria to 72,757.

It stated that the 617 cases were recorded in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory, which brings the total of confirmed cases in the country to 72,140 with 1,190 deaths.

According to the health Agency, Lagos led with 225 cases of the virus, while FCT had 181, and Kaduna recorded 125 cases.

Other states include; Adamawa (25), Nasarawa (20), Kano (12), Rivers (8), Edo (4), Ekiti (4), Bayelsa(3), Ogun (3), Plateau (3), Akwa-Ibom (2), Delta(1) and Sokoto (1).

The NCDC disclosed that four COVID-19 related deaths were recorded, adding that 138 persons have recovered and discharged from isolation centers across the country which brings the total number of recoveries to 65,850.
