Property worth millions of Naira have been destroyed as a result of fire incident that occurred at fire outbreak has occurred at Kairo market, a popular textile market at the Oshodi area of Lagos.
The fire incident which started around 10pm on Thursday destroyed some shops and property at the market worth millions of naira.
According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, “Consequent upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that some key klamp shops were engulfed with fire. The cause of the fire could not be ascertained as at the time of filing in this report.”
The statement added, “Fortunately, no record of loss of lives but goods worth fortune were lost to the inferno. The LASEMA Response Team, its Fire Unit and Lagos State”.
Pictures and videos circulated on social media also showed a crowd gathered at the scene, many of them wailing at the destruction.
The cause of the fire outbreak could not be ascertained at the time of this report.
Emergency responders from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos Fire Service and other security agencies arrived to quench the fire.
