One Garuba Ashin, have been arrested for allegedly stealing a goat in his neighbourhood in Kaiama Local Government Area in Kwara State.
The spokesman of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ilorin, Babawale Zaid Afolabi confirmed the arrest
He said that suspect is a resident of Iwala area, Kaiama, and was arrested on Thursday.
Babawale said regular surveillance by the operatives of the defence corps, led to the arrest of the suspect following repeated reports and complaints of residents over their missing domestic animals in the neighbourhood.
“The intense surveillance carried out, paid off recently as one Garuba Ashin of Iwala area in Kaiama, was arrested while trying to steal goats belonging to Hossan Abubakar,” the spokesman revealed.
He said the suspect has been transferred to the NSCDC state command in Ilorin, while efforts are ongoing to round up other members of the gang.
